Dialogue
This dialogue is fictional and based on the article.
Chako: Hey Log, even though Kawamoto threw an amazing fastball again, they lost!
Log: Yeah, Kawamoto clocked in at 155 kilometers per hour, but he also gave up 14 walks. It’s understandable that people might say he shot himself in the foot.
Chako: But why did he give up so many walks?
Navi: Generally speaking, if there are a lot of walks, it suggests there are issues with pitching control. Nerves and pressure might have played a part as well.
Log: That’s right. The mental state during a game can have a big impact, so he might not have left a good impression on the professional scouts.
Chako: I hope he does better next time!
Admin’s Note
This match ended in disappointment for Osaka Toin, but Kawamoto’s record of 155 kilometers was impressive. However, the high number of walks is something to work on in the future. High school baseball comes with significant mental pressure, so I hope he can maintain his composure when pitching next time. I look forward to seeing them grow and use this defeat as a stepping stone for further development.
