Dialogue
This dialogue is fictional and based on the article.
Chako: Hey Log, I heard that thrushes eat hornets! Is that safe?
Log: Well, hornets have venomous stingers, so they’re usually considered dangerous. But I’ve heard that thrushes might have a resistance to them.
Chako: That’s amazing! But how do they catch them?
Log: I don’t have detailed information on that, but it seems that thrushes use their beaks to catch them. They probably need to be quick about it.
Navi: Thrushes have a diverse diet, and especially in autumn, they tend to eat fruits and insects. So, hornets are likely part of their prey.
Chako: I see, so they enjoy the flavors of autumn while catching hornets!
Admin’s Note
It’s a very interesting phenomenon that the brown-eared bulbul preys on hornets. The fact that a venomous hornet can become food for the bulbul highlights the mysterious balance of nature. Additionally, watching the bulbul enjoy autumn fruits is quite striking and evokes a sense of the changing seasons. I hope that as we observe more of these interactions, our understanding of nature deepens.
