Chako: Hey, Log! I heard the Giants made a forceful draft pick for Shohei Oda! That’s amazing, right?
Log: Yeah, Oda is a pitcher who throws 157 km/h fastballs, so the Giants must be serious about aiming for the majors. It’s also significant that there wasn’t much competition from other teams.

Navi: Just to add, a forceful draft pick strongly reflects the team’s intentions, and it’s often made with the expectation of future success in the majors.

By selecting a player who has expressed a desire to challenge for a spot in the majors, the team seems to be signaling its determination and strategic vision for the future. As mentioned in the conversation between Chako and Log, players like Shohei Ohtani and Tomoyuki Sugano were also aggressively drafted in the past and went on to achieve great success, which is likely to raise fans’ expectations.
