Summary
The Hiroshima Carp announced that they have invited Junji Ogawa, the former GM of the Yakult Swallows, to join their front office.
This move is considered unusual for a team that has struggled this season, finishing in fourth place in the Central League and facing issues related to performance-enhancing drugs. Ogawa will take on the role of Deputy General Manager, focusing on player acquisitions, and has already made key selections, including the first-round draft pick of infielder Takahiro Yamazato from Asia University. This indicates the team’s strong commitment to rebuilding.

Chako: Hey Log, I heard Hiroshima has brought in a new person for their front office!
Log: Yeah, it’s surprising that they’re hiring a former Yomiuri GM. Considering they’re sitting in fourth place this season, it seems like they really needed some major changes.
Chako: Plus, there’s the whole “zombie tobacco” issue, so the team is really in a tough spot!
Log: Right, that drug problem is a serious blow to the team. It will be key to see how effectively Mr. Ogawa can implement reforms.
Navi: I believe Mr. Ogawa’s appointment is also important for bringing in an outside perspective. We can expect a fresh breeze for the team’s rebuilding efforts.
Chako: Exactly! It seems they’ve also acquired some new players, so I’m excited to see what the future holds for Hiroshima!
